In celebration of National Grandparents Day, the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry (CML) is inviting grandparents in the Charleston area to visit the Museum this Sunday, September 11, 2016 for free.

“National Grandparents Day is focused on honoring grandmothers and grandfathers, and giving them the opportunity to make memories with their grandchildren,” said CML Executive Director Nichole Myles. “We want to encourage grandparents to spend time playing with their grandchildren all year long, but especially on their very own holiday. We invite the whole family to come out and celebrate!”

Guests can paint a family portrait in the Art Room, play dress up in the Medieval Creativity Castle, learn about water while racing toy boats over rapids at the WaterWise exhibit, peruse the aisles of the kid-size Publix Market, climb aboard a Pirate Ship and search for buried treasure, and more.

The Museum also offers grandparents a discounted annual admission package$75 per year, which includes unlimited admission to the Museum for two grandparents and all of their grandchildren.

No pre-registration is required for Sunday’s event, but all grown-ups must be accompanied by a child for entrance.

The Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $12 per person, $10 for SC residents and free for members and children under 12 months of age. For more information, please visit exploreCML.org.
