If you are still planning to take the kids to visit Santa at James Island County Park this season, consider booking a private daytime meeting with Jolly Ol’ Saint Nick to avoid the long lines and cold evening weather.

The new ‘Mingle with Kringle’ experience features a private, extended visit with Santa in his sleigh, a 5×7 photo and USB thumb drive containing all images taken during your session, and a pass to the Holiday Festival of Lights. This coming weekend is the last opportunity to participate for this season. Visitation times are available Saturday, December 17th from 10am to 3pm and Sunday, December 18th from 12pm to 3pm.

The cost to participate is $60less than the regular price for the driving tour ($20) and a 5×7 photo ($11.99) with all photos on thumb drive ($35.99). That’s a savings of $7.98 for a personalized, unique experience for the whole family. Spots are limited, and reservations are required. ‘Mingle with Kringle’ can only accommodate up to 12 families per hour, so do not hesitate to schedule your visit. Click here to register.

“We believe this program provides a much better, more well rounded experience,” says James Island County Park General Manager Randy Woodard. “The whole idea is to make the experience magical, and it’s the little touches, like knowing a child’s name, that allows us to make this program really special.”

The Holiday Festival of Lights has been seen by more than four million people since its opening in 1989. The three-mile driving tour showcases over 750 displays and near two million lights. Visitors can park to browse gift shops, roast marshmallows, ride a train for a unique view of the tour and more. The Holiday Festival of Lights runs from November 11, 2016 to January 1, 2017.
