Charleston County School District (CCSD) Superintendent Gerrita Postlewait pledged a week ago to schedule a listening tour to hear from district stakeholders. The teachers’ listening session is set for Thursday, June 15 at 5 pm at the district headquarters, 75 Calhoun Street. Teachers did not receive e-mail notification of the event, which was posted on the district’s Facebook page Wednesday morning: https://www.facebook.com/CCSDconnects/?hc_ref=PAGES_TIMELINE&fref=nf

Patrick Hayes, director for the public school advocacy group EdFirstSC, stated in a press release, “If she (Postlewait) did not intend to demonstrate outright contempt for the district’s 3300 teachers, Dr. Postlewait’s communication skills are even more sorely lacking than anyone would have thought possible.”
