Old Towne Creek County Park hosts wine and beer events

Next to Charles Towne Landing on 1400 Old Towne Road, West Ashley is Old Towne Creek County Park. Most people probably drive by and never notice the park. It is a beautiful property owned by Charleston County Parks and Recreation and is only open for special events and private rentals. The park was formerly Ashem Farm and was once home to Charleston preservationist Emily Ravenel Farrow. She owned St. Andrews Riding Academy. It is a 67-acre estate with open fields, groves of Live Oaks, and marsh views.

This fall the park is open on September 21, October 5, and October 19 for Wine Down Wednesday. . The event is from 5-7 p.m. Tickets are $20 at the gate and $15 in advance for Charleston County residents. The admission price includes wine, live music, and a commemorative wine glass. Food truck fare will be available for purchase on-site.

The park is also hosting Brewsdays on September 27 and October 11. The event is from 5-7 p.m. Tickets are $15 at the gate and $12 in advance for Charleston County residents. The tickets cover admission, beer from Tradesman Brewing Company, live music, and yoga. Food truck fare will also be available. Beth Cosi, founder of Bendy Brewski Yoga, will teach a yoga class from 6-6:45 p.m.
