West Ashley High falls to Charlotte Christian

The West Ashley Wildcats lose to the Charlotte Christian Knights in a game to remember on Friday night.

The Charlotte Knights came into West Ashley High School looking for the win, but it didn’t come easily. The Wildcats home crowd nearly filled the stadium, and the student section was wild, loud, and proud. The story of the first half was high-powered offense, big plays, and turnovers for both teams. The Charlotte Knights had the lead at halftime 17-13.

Charlotte scored early in the 3rd quarter extending their lead to 24-13. However, the Wildcats mounted a comeback as they scored two more touchdowns putting them ahead 25-24.

Late in the 4th quarter, Charlotte scored the winning touchdown putting them up 31-25. On West Ashley’s final drive, they went all the way down to the 2 yard line. Miraculously, the Knights defense held strong on 4th and goal. The Knights took a safety on their last drive after running the clock down to just 2 seconds. The Wildcats couldn’t return the ball back for a touchdown, sealing the victory for the visiting Charlotte Knights.

The final score was 31-27.
