Brukes Coffee and Music has added ice cream to the menu. The restaurant at 1664 Old Towne Road is being rebranded as Brukes Coffee and Ice Cream Parlor. It will still serve premium coffee, breakfast foods, pastries and sandwiches but will add milkshakes, sundaes and cones. Customers may also shop for the wide variety of stringed instruments that line the wall, ranging from cellos to ukuleles.

The ice cream comes from the West Ashley creamery Cirsea and includes all natural ingredients. Among the flavors are lavender, strawberry sorbet, bourbon caramel, and green tea. Toppings include fresh fruit, chocolate sauces, nuts, sprinkles and cookie pieces.

There is socially-distanced indoor and outdoor seating. Another interesting feature is a 15 x 45 foot dog pen. The restaurant seeks to host musical performances and outdoor movie nights in the future. The new hours are 8 am to 9 pm.
