All Charleston County School District (CCSD) parents received an e-mail survey last week asking them how the want school to be conducted when school resumes in August. The choices were in the classrooms full-time, a return to full-time distance learning, an alternating schedule of in the classroom and on-line, or none of the above. The survey did not include a deadline. It is available on the CCSD website.

The data will be reviewed by the Safe Restart in August Task Force, as well as state and local officials. Addition questions included whether the children need bus transportation to get to school and whether the household has internet access. There was also a question about how the students are coping with the COVID-19 circumstances.

Not included in the survey was a question about child care concerns or whether a return to distance learning would cause the family economic hardship.
