The Church Creek Drainage Basin study which began in August will be presented to Charleston City Council Monday at 5 pm at Charleston City Hall. Following the presentation by engineering firm Weston & Sampson, City Council will vote to extend the moratorium on new permits for Church Creek Basin for another six months.

The study, which was developed through community meetings, field surveys, aerial photography and computer modeling, will include a detailed set of recommendations for drainage improvements and cost estimates. Lowcountry Source has previously reported on the process:

There are properties in Canterbury Woods, Shadowmoss and Hickory farms which have suffered flooding damage four times since 2015. Another public presentation on the drainage study will be held Thursday at 6:30 pm at West Ashley High School auditorium.

I talked with someone recently who said all that needs to be doneis tomake the culvert higher and that would stop the flooding for Shadowmoss.
