City of Charleston planners will lay out some of the redevelopment options being considered for the former Northbridge Piggly Wiggly[1] at the West Ashley Revitalization Commission (WARC) meeting Wednesday at 5:30 pm. The meeting will be held at the West Ashley Theater Center at Ashley Landing shopping center, next to Red Orchid restaurant. The 2.5-acre site has been vacant since 2013 and was purchased by City of Charleston for $3 million in 2017.

The site is considered a a centerpiece of the gateway into the city and lies less than a mile from Charles Towne Landing, where the first British settlers entered South Carolina in 1670. Other agenda items include branding ideas for the West Ashley community and an update on the implementation matrix for the West Ashley Master Plan[2]. There will be a public comment period toward the end of the meeting.
