At a time when many West Ashley businesses are closing due to the COVID-19 crisis, Parker’s Kitchen opened on Wednesday. The Savannah-based gas station, restaurant and convenience store is located at 1140 Sam Rittenberg Boulevard, the former site of Northbridge Exxon. The site selection was announced back in November 2018.

The store has the capacity for 12 cars to refuel at a time and includes diesel fuel. The spacious convenience store carries a wide variety of food, beverages and other consumer products. The signature at Parker’s is its hot, fresh foods, prepared at the site and featuring Southern cuisine. There is also a large grab-and-go section with sandwiches, salads, burgers and burritos. The kitchen will be open daily from 5 am to 10 pm and includes seating for 12 inside and two picnic tables outside for the time when social distancing is not longer being observed. The fuel pumps and convenience store will be open 24 hours a day. There is ample parking.

Parker’s put in sidewalks on its Sam Rittenberg and Orange Grove Road frontages and installed beautiful landscaping, featuring native plants. The property is lined by a brick wall. In addition to Southern cooking, Parker’s is known for its philanthropy activity. Its Fueling the Community program sets aside one cent for ever gallon of fuel sold to local schools and school programs.
