There are two Charleston Mayoral forums scheduled in West Ashley this week. The Fix Flooding First Mayoral Forum is set for Monday at 6:30 pm at The Schoolhouse, 720 Magnolia Road. The Dor Tikvah synagogue at 1645 Rauol Wallenberg Boulevard hosts a forum Thursday at 7:30 pm. The candidates are incumbent Mayor John Tecklenburg, current City Councilmen Mike Seekings and Gary White, former City Councilman Maurice Washington, Sheri Irwin, and Michelle Renee Orth.

The Fix Flooding First forum requires attendees to register for free tickets on Eventbrite.com. Candidates all submitted answers to eight questions in writing relating to flooding and drainage issues. Moderator Victoria Hansen from South Carolina Public Radio will ask each of the candidates to respond to another three questions. The last 20 minutes of the 90 minute forum will be reserved for audience questions. Fix Flooding First is an area non-profit organization devoted to coming up for solutions to regional drainage problems.

The Dor Tikvah forum will be moderated by Carolyn Murray from WCBD-TV and will focus on West Ashley issues. Participants may submit questions at Bit.do/MayoralDebate. Both forums will allow time for the audience to mingle with the candidates afterward.
