West Ashley grocers working to re-stock shelves

West Ashley grocers working to re-stock shelves

Panic, hoarding, and supply chain problems have made it difficult for West Ashley grocers to keep their shelves stocked in the wake of the Coronavirus scare. Over the past few weeks, supplies of toilet paper, paper towels, disinfectant wipes, and hand sanitizer have been virtually non-existent. Fresh meats, especially ground beef, have also been in short supply.

The West Ashley Walmart and Target stores have received several morning shipments of toilet paper during the past few days, and the supply was completely exhausted before noon. The Ashley Landing Publix at 1401 Sam Rittenberg Boulevard will have a new supply of toilet paper on the shelves at 8 am Friday.

If you need toilet paper, understand that hoarding is not allowed. Customers are only allowed to purchase one pack per visit. Customers also need to maintain social distancing protocols inside and outside the store, maintaining a six-foot spacing between themselves and others. Hopefully, the supply chain problem for toilet paper and other critical consumer items has been worked out, so remain calm and respect others around you if you plan to re-supply today.
