The pews were packed in the Ashley River Baptist Church in anticipation of the Jeremy Camp concert that took place on Friday, September 30, 2016. Jeremy Camp is a Christian musician, whose music is a mixture of upbeat and positive lyrics with rock influences. Also joining him on his I Will Follow tour was R&B artist Royce Lovett.

Both aforementioned artists were presented by local radio station, HIS Radio. Jody Robinson, a HIS radio event coordinator, was also present at the event and helped organize this showing by bringing a well-known singer and songwriter to a West Ashley venue.

Ashley River Baptist Church hosts events, like this concert, to promote community interaction while, at the same time, appealing to younger generations. Not only does this type of event get them engaged but it also gets them involved. Parishioners, both young and old, ran ticket and merchandise sales. Donning their yellow ‘Bridge Builder’ shirts, the volunteers also were found during the event collecting donations for Compassions’ Sponsor a Child, whose sermon prefaced the performance.

This ‘Serve Day’ occurs on the third Saturday of every month. You need not be a member of the church in order to help out your community. Just fill out a “Mission Response Form”, which you can complete and return here.
